SONS OF BITCHES were born in early 1992 in the suburban neighborhoods of White Plains, NY. Inspired by the release of "Sick 'Em" by 7 YEAR BITCH, James Krieger put together a formula of one part Sonic Youth, one part Pixies, and one part suburban catholic upbringing which yielded what today is known as SONS OF BITCHES. Once Gail Buchanan and Mike May were in place the puzzle was complete.

Shortly after having 4-track bedroom recordings premiered to a Tower Records audience, by Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth, a studio demo was recorded which soon found it's way to Liz Davis of 7 Year Bitch. Opening spots for 7 YEAR BITCH, Lee Ranaldo (SONIC YOUTH), BARKMARKET, and ALICE DONUT (among others) soon followed.
SONS OF BITCHES released the 7" single "Bliss/Untitled" on Tiger Baby Records in April 1996. "Bliss" is a punk rock duet of sorts featuring Elizabeth Davis of 7 YEAR BITCH.

"...a solid hook and an energetic drive show up on this 7-inch debut...Major labels, open your checkbooks..." - Jason Pettigrew ALTERNATIVE PRESS June 1997
"Kinda New York's answer to Nirvana: songs that start simple but kick in and rock out. Watch for this band. They're gonna make some waves." - George Tabb NEW YORK PRESS Oct. 1996

"Want comparisons? Nirvana, Jawbox, The Jesus Lizard, Helmet...every fucking killer punk band
around. But no comparison is fair since this band stand just fine on their own. And with their ability and creativity, SONS OF BITCHES have the potential to become as recognized and respected as all of the others." - Merilee Kuchon AQUARIAN WEEKLY

Just an update to let you all know what is going on with us:
"THE BEAT"
Well, the new UPN television show "The Beat" from Barry Levinson and Tom
Fontana (OZ/Homicide) will begin airing in March. TV Guide just picked it as
it's top pick of the shows starting in the upcoming months. SONS OF BITCHES
will appear in Eps. #8 "Bang A Gong" performing two songs on camera ("Vigil
Pt. I" and "Twitch").
We have also just finished recording a new song, "Eraser", which will be
appearing on a cd e.p. that will coincide with the television show. It will
feature "Eraser", "Vigil Pt. I", "Twitch" and "Vigil Pt. II". This will be
avaliable in March.
Playing bass on "Eraser" was Larry Forrest (former SOB bassist) - so it was a
reunion of sorts in the studio. Photos from the session can be seen soon on
our website.
